Monarchies are a drain on a country, unless they can bring in tourism (England). No one goes to Spain for the King.

As a Spaniard myself I can tell he is gonna get in a lot of trouble because of this.
His son-in-law, member of the royal family, is facing trial for massive laundering (he even used a child NGO's as cover). Recently, his grandson shoot himself in the foot with a airgun, which are prohibited for kids under 14 (he is 13).
Spanish monarchy hasn't been very popular for some years now, but this is going to raise the people much more against them.
